False accusations: Woman asks CJ to release husband

People accused police of propagating false charges in two separate incidents.

PESHAWAR:
People accused police of propagating false charges in two separate incidents. A woman from Badabher asked the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice (CJ) to provide justice to her husband who was arrested by police. She claimed he was falsely accused of smuggling 50 kilogrammes of hashish. Sharafata Bibi, wife of Muhammad Shah, said that Badabher police arrested her husband on January 14 and demanded Rs1 million for his release. “Sub Inspector Misri Khan and Suleman Khel SHO Abidur Rehman, have entrapped my husband,” she claimed. She appealed to CJ Dost Muhammad Khan and IGP Akbar Khan Hoti to release her husband, saying that she has six children and is unable to look after them by herself. In another case, a resident of Babu Town filed a writ petition saying that Faqirabad police raided his home after receiving false information. He claimed that they took Rs400,000 from his house among other valuables. He appealed to CJ Khan to take notice of the action, claiming that they conducted the raid outside their jurisdiction.
