LPG prices upped by Rs18 per kg
It was expected that following increase in Saudi Aramco contract price for gas, LPG prices will be upped by Rs19/kg.
The retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been increased by Rs18 per kg, Express News reported Monday.
The impact of the inflation has resulted in an increase of Rs221 for domestic cylinder and Rs855 for commercial cylinder.
It was earlier expected that following an increase in the Saudi Aramco contract price for gas, LPG prices will be upped by Rs19 per kg.
The new Saudi price for September has been fixed at $946 per ton, an increase of $171 compared to the price for August. The price hike has been primarily due to the recent surge in oil prices and stockpiling of LPG by energy-hungry China and other developing countries.
The government, which is the largest producer of LPG in the country, is the major beneficiary of the increase in prices.
