QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) disqualified provincial minister and Balochistan National Party’s (BNP) parliamentary leader Syed Ahsan Shah on Monday for possessing a fake degree, Express News reported.

Shah’s degree was challenged in the BHC by the provincial president of the National Party, Doctor Yasin Baloch.

Today, the division bench comprising Justice Jamal Mandokhel and Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mengal disqualified Shah after his degree was proven to be forged.

The court ruled that polls be held for Balochistan Assembly’s seat PB-48 (Kech-I), which falls vacant after Shah’s disqualification.
