Pakistan-India ties improving: Malik
Says Pakistan will resist movement of terrorists between the two neighbours۔
KARACHI:
Minister for Interior Abdul Rehman Malik on Sunday said Pakistan and India relations were improving according to the wishes of peoples of the two countries. Pakistan would be strongly resisting any movement of terrorists between the two neighbours.
On the occasion of Indian foreign minister’s visit to Pakistan, important and practical decisions are expected to be taken to liberalise the issuance of visas at the people’s level, he said.
The minister was talking to the media at State Guest House after a meeting with Sajadah Nasheen of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, Syed Nazim Ali Nizami there.
Malik said Pakistan would welcome the opening of Indian visa office at its Consulate in Karachi. The government fully realised that those intending to visit from Karachi have to face many problems including extra expenses as they get visa from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The issue of visas between Pakistan and India would be resolved soon, he hoped.
The minister said that he would soon visit New Dehli and also visit the mazar of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia. Indian Prime Minister Manmohnsingh had also invited him (Malik) for the visit.
He said that Ulema and Sufis have spread the message of love and brotherhood in this region, including Pakistan and India.
The Sajadah-e-Nasheen of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia said that he had brought the message of love and brotherhood to Pakistan as Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia had been preaching the same his entire life. This has encouraged the Muslims and Hindus both who visit the Mazar regularly.
