Protesting injustices: ‘People mistreating Bheel community’

President of the All Pakistan Bheel Alliance said the community would not remain silent if injustices are committed.

MITHI:

Hundreds of people belonging to the Bheel community of Thar gathered at Katho Bheel village on Sunday to protest against injustices against its members.

In the latest incident, they claimed that armed men working for influential people had beaten up a herdsman and forcefully taken away over one hundred goats and sheep. People from different parts of the province, including Mithi, Deeplo, Chhachhro, Badin, Mirpurkhas and Umerkot, came to the protest.

The president of the All Pakistan Bheel Alliance, Dr Meva Ram, said the community would not remain silent if injustices are committed against it. He criticised influential people for seeking the group’s votes during elections but forgetting them after coming to power. Dr Ram added that seats in the parliament should be set aside for the Bheel community. Other members of the group, including Bhagat Soro Mal, Gujo Gulshan Bheel and Comrade Gomo Mal announced that a movement will be launched.
