SUKKUR:

More than 250 activists of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) and Sindh National Movement (SNM) came out in support of the Hindu community on Sunday.

They protested against the government’s failure of not providing them with adequate security.

Carrying placards and banners, the protesters staged a demonstration outside Thul Press Club.

While speaking at the event, JSQM’s acting chairperson Dr Niaz Kalani and SNM’s chief Ali Hassan Chandio said that Hindus were also “sons of the soil” and had been living in Sindh for centuries.

They added that the Hindu community was traditionally engaged in commercial activities and were contributing to the national exchequer in the form of taxes. The nationalist leaders also criticised the government’s failing to ensure that Hindu girls were not kidnapped and then forcibly converted.
