The Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan and the commandant of Bhittai Rangers have been called to the court to explain the “illegal” detention of two men.
The case was filed at the Sindh High Court by Khan Gul and Naikzan, the fathers of Dost Mal and Sherzada respectively, against the arrest of their sons.
The men were arrested on July 25 by paramilitary soldiers on suspicion of their association with banned outfits. Since their arrest, the men have not been brought to any court. On Friday, Chief Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah heard the initial arguments of the petitioners’ lawyer, Muhammad Farooq.
The court issued notices to all the respondents for September 13, when another 40 cases relating to “missing persons” will be heard by the same bench.
