‘Revolution from Within’: Pakistan Youth Congress begins today

4-day event will include sessions on career, drug abuse prevention.

As many as 300 participants from across the country will be participating in the fourth Pakistan Youth Congress which is all set to start on Saturday (today). This year’s theme is Revolution from Within, which the organisers say, is aimed to interpret the voice of the young generation of Pakistan.


The four-day event is being organised by the Drug Free Pakistan Foundation in collaboration with International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Pakistan, the US Embassy in Islamabad, the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme and Rescue 1122.

The Youth Parliament of Pakistan will also participate in the event.

The congress will consist of sessions on life skills and career development along with drug abuse prevention sessions for participants in the age group of 16-26 years. Session will also be held in the areas of active citizenship, crisis management and various socio-economic challenges including sessions on unemployment and illiteracy. International speakers from various countries, including Indonesia, Singapore, America and Bhutan, will conduct the trainings.

The first Pakistan Youth Congress was organized in 2009. This year’s event is expected to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, whereas as the closing ceremony would be chaired by Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa on September 4.
