MIRPUR:
The resumption of bilateral cricket series between Pakistan and India will help improve ties between the governments as well, according to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka  Ashraf. Zaka was talking to reporters on the sidelines of his visit to the recently renovated Quaid-i-Azam Mirpur cricket stadium and added that the board  was in close contact with the government officials who are working towards improving the security situation in the country – the biggest obstacle hindering the return of international cricket to Pakistan. Zaka added that in order to improve the state of domestic cricket, the sport was being promoted across the country at the regional level and the renovation work in Mirpur was undertaken to get it up to international standards. According to the chairman, the PCB has taken control of the stadium on a 23-year lease and plans to hold international and domestic matches.
