USAID project: Automatic power meter reading plan
USAID Power Distribution Programme stipulates manufacture of the AMR meters.
ISLAMABAD:
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in its efforts to assist the power distribution companies (DISCOs) in loss reductions and revenue enhancements, is launching an Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) project for the high loss DISCOs of Pakistan. The USAID Power Distribution Programme stipulates manufacture of the AMR meters, with installation for the eight month project planned to begin in January 2013. “This project will provide highly accurate electronic meter readings with very little human intervention” said Dick Dumford, Chief Technical Advisor of USAID’s Power Distribution Programme.
