RAWALPINDI: A man was injured while resisting a robbery at a shop near Sir Syed Chowk on Thursday. According to the Waris Khan police, three armed men entered a shop on Jehangir Road and opened fire at the shopkeeper when he resisted the robbery. The police registered a case on the complaint of the shop’s owner, former Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer Haroon Rasheed. In another incident, five armed men entered a house in the Banni area and held the inmates at gunpoint. They looted gold ornaments weighing over 600 grams, Rs150,000, cell phones and a licensed pistol before making their way out. Police said the house belonged to Ziaur Rehman, a jeweller who runs a shop on Benazir Bhutto Road.
