Jamshoro housing scheme: Hyderabad builder jailed for fraud

Sent to jail for 10 years and fined Rs5 million for swindling people.

KARACHI:
A builder in Hyderabad has been sent to jail for 10 years and fined Rs5 million for swindling people who bought plots in his Jamshoro housing scheme. On Wednesday, an accountability court in Karachi headed by Judge Arshad Noor Khan handed down the sentence to Mohsin Ali in the fraud case. If he fails to pay the fine he will have to undergo two years of rigorous imprisonment. Ali was tried in a National Accountability Bureau reference for cheating the public at large by creating the housing scheme but failing to hand over the plots.
