Athletics: Adams crushes rivals with record

Adams managed a best of 20.81m.

ZURICH:
New Zealand’s Valerie Adams, a three-time world champion, crushed her rivals with ease in the women’s shot put event in the Diamond League meeting. Adams, who became a double Olympic champion after the initial winner in this month’s London Games, managed a best of 20.81m. The distance was a new record for the meeting.
