Round-up: Yay or Nay?

A visual roundup of all the best and the worst moments at various events.

While Ramazan kept red carpet activity at bay in Pakistan, Bollywood and Hollywood celebs donned their best to make appearances at premieres, events and launches.

The Express Tribune gives you a visual roundup of all the best and the worst moments at various events.

Neha Dhupia

Bollywood actor Neha Dhupia has earned our respect. She was spotted at the Retail Jeweller India Awards 2012 in Mumbai sporting a silver-grey pleated Dior dress that fell to her ankles. The sleeveless, high-necked number had a layered skirt which created an interesting visual texture. She paired this silver dress with golden shoes and oddly enough, it worked! Even though it does look like the war of the metals is going on, it still makes for a very interesting mix. She accessorised with gold-sequinned heels and a round silver-grey clutch purse. A simple up-do, smoky eye make-up and sun-kissed cheeks completed her look.

Mehreen Syed

Model Mehreen Syed was spotted wearing a draped cyan Wardha Saleem piece at the L’Oreal Paris Eid Animation press meet in Karachi. The model looked stunning in this ankle covering layered piece which she paired with black strappy heels and finished with a coral pout. Coral, which is a lovechild of pink and orange, is the hottest lipcolour of the season and we salute Mehreen for totally rocking the hue with her coffee brown tresses.

Ashley Greene

Actor Ashley Greene arrived in this delectable Donna Karan Atelier raspberry gown at the premiere of Warner Bros Pictures The Apparition at the Chinese Theatre. Being the face of DKNY and DKNY Jeans, Ashley clearly did the Donna Karan brand proud. But aside from the stunning dress, her newly dyed chocolate brown locks really suit her and seem to accentuate this pretty shade of berry lipstick.

Abigail Spencer

Actor Abigail Spencer looks like she ended her war reporting project in Iraq and landed directly on the carpet. The glam and oomph has taken a backseat in this unflattering and camouflage-y ensemble. The actor has done so much better in the past and it just makes us want to cry a little that she is hiding her gorgeous locks in a bun and her slightly tanned skin under that appalling parachute army jacket.  That skirt looks like something you could clean a fish tank with.

Adrienne Frantz

Actor Adrienne Frantz arrived at the unveiling of the Leonardo da Vinci sculpture Horse And Rider at Greystone Mansion in a lingerie-inspired peekaboo black and beige dress with domantrix black heels. Even though everything seems in place, we are not too fond of the look. It seems fit to be worn in the confines of your bedroom but on a red carpet, it just makes her come across as too desperate to look sexy — and it’s sad because it’s not working.

Indian Celeb

The GR8 Magazine anniversary bash in The Club Millennium in Mumbai saw some pretty shocking fashion statements. A good example would be this multi-coloured striped piece that just looks like it was made by a five-year-old who was told to practice straight lines with colour pencils.  The jewellery isn’t all that bad but the dress is a deliberate effort towards social suicide.
