Petroleum policy: Analyst hails government efforts
Analyst has said that the government intends to attract foreign investors through its new petroleum policy.
ISLAMABAD:
Analyst Rasool Bukhsh Raees has said that the government intends to attract foreign investors through its new petroleum policy. The government had on Monday unveiled the Petroleum Policy 2012, aimed at increasing crude oil and gas production by 49% and 19% respectively within a year. While talking to PTV, Rais said that the country has vast energy deposits, especially in the form of abundant gas and coal reserves; and that self-exploration of these resources and a conducive environment for foreign investors in the energy sector can help resolve the energy crisis. He said the government should take steps to overcome corruption problems and other bureaucratic hurdles in this regard, and to ensure the security of foreign investors in the country.
