‘Honour’ crime : Man kills sister-in-law

FAISALABAD: A man on Sunday strangled his sister-in-law in Saddar area. Police said that Shumaila, daughter of Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Chak 215-RB, had been living with her sister after getting a divorce from her husband, Afzal, a few months after their marriage. They said her brother-in-law, Haidar Ali, had suspected her of loose morals and had had several arguments with her. They said he had also accused her of having an affair with a neighbour. On Sunday, they had an argument after which Ali strangled her. He fled the scene. The body was sent for a post morterm examination An FIR had been registered against Ali on the complaint of the deceased’s father.
