Light rain cools city

LAHORE:


Scattered rainfall in different parts of city on Saturday brought down the temperature.


Met officials recorded 11 millimeters of rain at their Jail Road office while no rain was recorded at the Airport met office.

Met officials said heavy but scattered rain was expected on Sunday. The highest temperature was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius while the lowest temperature was 27 degrees Celsius.

Met office Director Sahabzada Khan said rain was recorded at Shadman, Jail Road, The Mall and Shadara. Khan said a drizzle was also witnessed in other areas.

CDGL officials came into action soon after the rain as several roads of the city were inundated with water.

Bhati Gate, Circular Road, Krishanagr and Naba Road were amongst the roads inundated.

A number of vehicles broke down on these roads. Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik also visited several roads of the city to review the performance of the WASA workers.

Seems the KESC staff is enjoying the rain the most. Two outages so far for 3 hours each at the first drop of rain...!!!
