RAWALPINDI:

The City Traffic Police's Encroachment Squad conducted an operation in Bara Market against encroachments and illegal parking that were disrupting the flow of traffic.

During the operation, a trader resisted and an altercation took place with the traffic staff, leading to the trader adopting an unethical attitude. As a result, a case was registered against the trader.

According to the police, during the encroachment operation in Bara Market, the trader clashed with the traffic staff and behaved inappropriately. The City Traffic Officer (CTO) of Rawalpindi took immediate notice of the incident and ordered strict legal action. Subsequently, a formal complaint was filed at the local police station.

Authorities stated that the purpose of the operation was to alleviate traffic jams and other related issues faced by the public. The CTO emphasised that strict action will be taken against those responsible for encroachments, illegal parking, and violating traffic laws. He further assured that the City Traffic Police is working to ensure better travel facilities for the public.

The CTO condemned the incident in Bara Market, calling it unacceptable and made it clear that harassment of staff working for public welfare will not be tolerated.
