Kim Kardashian is sparing no expense to make the holiday season magical for her kids. Continuing a tradition started by her ex-husband Kanye West, the reality star hired Grammy-winning pianist Philip Cornish to perform Christmas songs at her $60 million Calabasas mansion every morning in December.
According to sources, Cornish—who has been Kanye’s musical director since 2019—was initially brought in by the rapper to create a peaceful and festive environment for their four children: North (11), Saint (8), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5). The insider revealed, “Kanye thought it was a magical way to add creativity and peace to the holiday season. Even after their divorce, Kim embraced the tradition because the kids love it so much.”
The pianist reportedly receives a lump sum payment, now well into six figures, and additional gifts from the Kardashian family for his performances. “He’s basically part of the family now,” the source shared.
Kim has frequently showcased Cornish’s performances on social media, with videos featuring him playing a baby grand piano in her minimalist, beige-toned living room, adorned with snowy Christmas decorations. In one post, she captioned, “It’s that time of year!!! @Philthekeys comes over every morning to wake my kids up by playing the piano while the mad morning rush is happening to calm their little souls.”
Despite backlash, Kim shows no signs of ending this beloved holiday tradition, ensuring her children wake up to the sounds of festive melodies each December morning.
