Improving Shahrah-e-Quaideen: Work to repair road underway
Commissioner asked engineers working on the road to finish the project within the stipulated time.
KARACHI:
A new layer of asphalt has been laid on Shahrah-e-Quaideen, from Mazare Quaid to Noorani Chowrangi, said the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) commissioner, Matanat Ali Khan.
He visited the road on Thursday to inspect the repair work. He added that construction work to prevent rainwater from stagnating on Sharah-e-Quaideen was also in progress and over 75 per cent work had been completed.
Khan asked engineers working on the road to finish the project within the stipulated time. New barriers have been erected along the road so that traffic travelling along both sides can pass through safely. A pedestrian bridge will also be constructed. The underground sewerage line will also be corrected.
