KARACHI:
Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief (MQM) Altaf Hussain, expressing sorrow over the recent blasphemy case filed against a Christian girl, called Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday.

Earlier in August, Rimsha Masih, an 11-year-old reported to have Down Syndrome, was arrested for allegedly burning pages inscribed with verses from the Holy Quran. She was taken into custody in a low-income area of Islamabad on Thursday after a furious mob demanded she be punished.

However, recently a Christian activist, who met Rimsha, has seen a medical report which states that the girl has no mental illness.

Xavier William said that, “She was frightened and traumatized.”
