Blast hoax in Karachi
Police found no bomb or any other source of blast.
KARACHI:
The report of a powerful blast near Safoora Chowrangi in Karachi was a hoax, said police on Thursday.
Earlier, it was reported that a blast was heard and ambulances headed towards the area.
Police had reached the area and searched for clues to determine the nature of the blast. However nothing was found.
SSP Malir Rao Anwar told The Express Tribune that a police contingent was immediately dispatched to the area when rescue teams informed them of a blast in Karachi.
Rao said his team found no bomb or any other source of blast.
On second day of Eid, a bomb threat hoax caused panic in Karachi Zoo.
Police evacuated the zoo after receiving an alert from zoo officials, however, the bomb disposal squad swept the area and found no bomb.
