Public safety: ‘Make metro bus routes safer’
Rs500,000 for the family of a woman who recently died after falling into a ditch dug up for the bus project.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday directed the authorities concerned to ensure foolproof safety arrangements along the routes of the under construction metro bus project. He was presiding over a project review meeting on Sunday. Sharif also announced Rs500,000 financial assistance for the family of a woman who recently died after falling into a ditch dug up for the bus project.
He said the project routes must be made safe for the people. He said that an awareness campaign should be launched regarding the safety arrangements as well as the utility of metro bus project.
Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, MPAs Mehr Ishtiaq and Hafiz Muhammad Nauman, the Metro Bus Project managing director, the Lahore commissioner, the acting inspector general of Police, the DIG (Operations), and the Lahore Development Authority director general were also present.
