Unidentified body found in Chamkani

The cause of death was also not confirmed.

PESHAWAR:

A dead body has been recovered from the bank of Budnai canal, in the jurisdiction of Chamkani police station.

Locals spotted the body on the bank of the canal near Service Road, in the same location where two dead bodies in guinea sacks had been found a few days ago. Police sent the body to Khyber Medical College for a post-mortem examination.

A Chamkani police official told The Express Tribune that the body was so badly decomposed that there was little chance of establishing its identity.“We are unable to even tell the age of the victim,” he said. The cause of death was also not confirmed.

The number of bodies recovered from this area has increased in the recent past. Eight bodies were found in the areas of Mathra, Chamkani and Sarband, on a single day.

A week ago, two bodies were found near Khattako Pul, in the jurisdiction area of Chamkani police, while two more were found in the East Cantt and Khazana areas.
