Hajj travel: ‘Terror’ suspect wants name off watchlist

He wants to perform Hajj on September 10.

KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court has asked the home department to comment on a restriction on the free movement of Muhammad Adnan for alleged links with the proscribed Lashkar-e-Tayba.

He wants to perform Hajj on September 10. Adnan’s name was placed on the watchlist of terrorist suspects in 2008. He said the police had been using the US11EE of the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 to harass him for three years.

There was no case against him. He used to live in Karachi but moved to Lahore but the same list was given to the Lahore police. Justice Shahid Anwar Bajwa directed Provincial Law Officer Meeran Muhammad Shah to comment and adjourned till September 6.
