Equalising terms: APTTA 2010 to be reformed
Daroo Khan Achakzai has urged traders and businesspersons to share their proposals for reforms.
KARACHI:
In order to review the Afghanistan Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement 2010 (APTTA 2010) to facilitate the business community across the border, Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Acting President Engineer Daroo Khan Achakzai has urged traders and businesspersons to share their proposals for reforms. He said that it is high time that the agreement is tuned to the requirements of businesses transacting across the border, most importantly if parallel trade regimes are to be discouraged between the two countries. He elaborated that this agreement is a major element, specifically with reference to transit trade, and that the exercise will be conducted by both chapters of the chamber to draft a comprehensive document of recommendations, which will then be presented to competent authorities in both countries.
