Official residencies: ‘End loadshedding exemption for VIPs’

Petitioner said loadshedding will not be eliminated unless the President, PM and VIPs suffered with the common man.

LAHORE:
The Judicial Activism Panel on Thursday moved a civil miscellaneous application in the Lahore High Court seeking a direction for electricity loadshedding at the Presidency, the Prime Minister’s House and houses of other VIPs to bring them at par with the common man. JAP Chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique said that common citizens were faced long outages, whereas the official residences of important personalities were exempt from loadshedding. He moved the application in a main petition against loadsheddin pending at the LHC. The petitioner said that loadshedding will not be eliminated unless the president, the prime minister and other VIPs suffered with the common man.
