Security watch: CCTV cameras installed at Sutlej bridge

The cameras have been installed with the cooperation of the Citizen’s Police Raabta Committee.

BAHAWALPUR: CCTV cameras were inaugurated on the Sutlej River bridge on Wednesday in a ceremony presided by District Police Officer Sohail Habib Tajik and Citizen’s Police Liaison Committee Convener Dr Rana Muhammad Tariq. The cameras have been installed with the cooperation of the Citizen’s Police Raabta Committee. Addressing the ceremony, DPO Tajik said that the concept of public-private partnership was becoming popular in Pakistan. The cameras will help police fight crime, he said.  He said that the programme comprised of several phases. In the next phase, he said, CCTV cameras will be installed in Channi Goth. Dr Tariq said that by cooperating in the installation of the cameras, the CPLC was playing its role in fighting crime.
