Children appeal to govt for free education

Play, titled 'Bachay aur Musalah Tasadum', aimed to highlight the plight of street children.

As part of its Independence Day celebrations, Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child held a play on children’s involvement in armed conflict at Jinnah Super on Tuesday, said a press release.

The play, titled “Bachay aur Musalah Tasadum”, aimed to highlight the plight of street children who are vulnerable to exploitation by terrorist groups.

The play portrayed the story of a 12-year-old-boy, Ali, whose parents were killed in a drone attack.

The boy was forced to live on the streets, where he was picked up by a terrorist group and trafficked to an area near the Pak-Afghan border.

However, he somehow managed to escape from the terrorists’ captivity and eventually met with the members of child rights clubs who offered him support and protection.

In addition, members of child rights clubs also launched a signature campaign through which children requested the government to provide free education to every child.

The signed banner will be sent to the president of Pakistan.
