Jeevay Pakistan: Transgenders celebrate Independence Day
They expressed their love for the country by chanting slogans of ‘Pakistan zindabad’, dancing to Sindhi music.
SUKKUR:
People across the country celebrated Pakistan’s 65th Independence Day and it was no different for transgender people and members of the Sanam Welfare Association.
Carrying banners, flags and a portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah they held a rally with a marching band. They expressed their love for the country by chanting slogans of ‘Pakistan zindabad’ and dancing to the tune of Sindhi music. “Pakistan has given us everything but we haven’t given anything in return,” said the Sanam Welfare Association president, Sanam Fakir, while talking to the media. She added that Pakistan was created 65 years ago as a separate homeland for Muslims.
