FAISALABAD:

Seven police officials, including the Balochni SHO were suspended on Wednesday due to poor performance.

A police spokesman said the chief minister had received a complaint that the SHO Ehsan Elahi Zaheer was not active against the increase in heinous crime in the area. He was also charged with torturing innocent people.

A committee headed by an Additional Inspector General (AdIG) investigated the complaint.

The committee’s initial report recommended department action against the seven police officials, including SHO Zaheer, SI Ashfaq Mujahid, SI Ashraf Abid Husain, ASI Tariq Manzoor and head constable Akram. The CPO issued orders to suspend the seven officials and issuing show cause notices to them.
