Cycling: Azeem wins Independence Day race

The organisers praise the traffic police for making arrangements throughout the journey.

KARACHI:
Lahore’s Azeem Nobal won the Independence Day cycle race from Lahore to Kasur, organised by the Punjab Cycling Association, while Mohammad Nasir ended up as runner-up. Nobal covered the 45km distance in one hour, 15 minutes and 46 seconds as he reigned supreme ahead of 74 other athletes from all over Punjab. Tanvir Ahmed claimed the third spot, while Abdul Rehman finished fourth followed by Shahbaz and Imran Yousuf in fifth and sixth positions, respectively. Kasur District Coordinator Officer Muhammad Ahsan Waheed distributed cash awards to the winners. The organisers also praised the traffic police for making arrangements throughout the journey, ensuring smooth travel for the cyclists.
