In solidarity: JUI-F condemns raid on Darul Uloom
No one was arrested.
KARACHI:
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl Sindh condemned the search operation that was conducted at the Darul Uloom seminary in Korangi Friday. A statement detailing a conversation between the party’s Sindh secretary general Dr Khalid Soomro, Sindh Information Secretary Mohammad Aslam Ghauri and the seminary’s second-in-command Mufti Mohammad Taqi Usmani quoted Soomro as saying that the Darul Uloom was not involved in militancy or any negative activities. Soomro said that besmirching the honour of the institution was not a service to the country. He alleged that the government was offering its services for “American dollars”. He said that workers of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) would support any decision made by the Wafaqul Madaris al Arabia and the seminary’s administration. No one was arrested.
