PNCA poster competition: Youngsters show off patriotic artwork
Youngsters display artistic abilities at the conclusion of a two-month art summer camp.
ISLAMABAD:
Youngsters displayed their artistic abilities at the conclusion of a two-month art summer camp at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) here on Friday.
With August 14 in mind, the children were asked to make posters on the theme of “Mera Pakistan” at the end of the camp, some of which have been put on display at the PNCA gallery.
Ranging from four to 15 years of age, the children’s posters were divided into two groups, one for kids under eight, and the other for nine to 15 year olds.
The older category’s posters mostly depicted national monuments such as Minar-e-Pakistan, Jinnah’s mausoleum, Faisal Mosque and a neatly done painting of the Pakistan Monument which was also a prize winner. The younger children drew landscapes of Pakistan with the flag visibly rippling in almost all of them.
The children were later treated to a musical puppet show, which was both entertaining and educational, with references to cleanliness and patriotism.
