Ambush: Soldier dies as militants attack convoy
Taliban insurgents targeted an army convoy in Mohmand Agency with a roadside IED.
MOHMAND AGENCY:
At least one soldier was killed and several others were wounded on Thursday after suspected Taliban insurgents targeted an army convoy in Mohmand Agency with a roadside IED. Officials said it was a remote controlled bomb, which exploded when the army convoy was passing through the area. Officials said the militants targeted the convoy in Qandharo, a lawless tribal area on the Pak-Afghan border. “One of our soldiers died and seven sustained injuries in the attack,” an official said, adding that a search operation had been started in the area.
