QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly member Mir Bakhtiar Khan Domki has accused the provincial government of using disproportionate force against Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, a former federal minister.

Domki alleged that security forces had besieged the former minister’s ancestral town of Rind out of personal enmity.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Domki said that the provincial government was deliberately creating a law and order situation, while not addressing the serious crisis that has developed due to the recent floods -- which requires emergency relief and assistance from the government.

“Instead of deploying forces in Sunni and Shoran, the personnel should be engaged in relief operations. If police action continues against MPA Sardar Rind, then the now peaceful districts will fall into serious law and order problems,” he warned.
