Road accident: 15 injured as PAEC bus overturns
Police claim driver’s negligence as he tried to overtake vehicles at high speed and lost control of the bus.
ISLAMABAD:
At least 15 people suffered minor injuries when a bus carrying employees of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) overturned on Murree Road on Wednesday afternoon.
An official said that the bus was on its way to Rawalpindi from the PAEC Headquarters when it met an accident.
PAEC officials reached the spot within minutes and shifted the passengers to the commission’s hospitals, he added. The Shehzad Town police said they did not register a case as the officials did not want any police action.
They said the entire incident, from rescuing the injured to removing the bus from the busy road, was handled by PAEC on its own.
The reason behind the accident could not be ascertained by the PAEC officials. However, the police claim it was the driver’s negligence as he tried to overtake other vehicles at a high speed and lost control of the bus.
