Tragedies: Four killed in Hazara division

Two injured, one drowned; body recovered.

Five persons including a woman were killed in different incidents in Hazara division on Tuesday.


According to the Mansehra police, a man was killed and his son was critically injured when their rivals opened fire at them during a funeral procession in Sultanpur area of Havelian.

The victims were identified as Tahveez Khan and his son Zar Gul. Police said that Amir Khan of Sera-e-Saleh village had old enmity with Tahveez over a murder and attacked them to settle old scores.


In the second incident, a woman was swept away by a heavy water current while crossing the Sirin River. Her body was later recovered from a distance. She was identified as Mir Safa Bibi, wife of Ghulam Nabi of Sachan Kalan village.

The third incident was reported from Mohalla Dhenda Chowk, where some labourers were busy in construction work on the roof of a mosque when one of the labourers, Tahir Naqash, 17, accidentally touched an overhead live electricity wire and got electrocuted.

In the fourth accident, a teenage boy was killed while doing stunts on his motorbike. Eyewitnesses and police said that Fahad, 15, was carrying another friend, Ehtesham, while doing stunts on his motorbike when they crashed against a car (799 IDB) near Panian. Fahad died on the spot while Ehtesham was injured. He was shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad where his condition is stated to be critical.

Lastly, locals spotted a body of a man in Tarbela Lake. The body was mutilated and the cause of the death could not be ascertained by experts. They, however, maintained that the man was in his 40s. The body was sent to Edhi centre for burial as it was not claimed by anyone.
