The three losses follow the two defeats Pakistan suffered at the start of their campaign — 8-1 against Siena and a 13-0 loss to Arezzo. Pakistan coach Mussadiq Hanif rued the losses but found a silver lining in the ‘valuable experience’ gained.
“It’s been a good tour but we could’ve done better,” Hanif told The Express Tribune. “Our last match was extremely challenging since the Americans are very good. Our pitchers did a good job but I was expecting big hits from our players. The experience, though, was extremely helpful since our players have only participated in Asian tournaments.”
Bottom-placed Pakistan are participating in the league as Asia’s number five.
“We knew we don’t have a chance of qualifying but this was more about playing with international sides.”
