Helping hand: Japan to hold investment moots for Pakistan

Currently, bilateral trade between Japan and Pakistan stands between $2 billion

ISLAMABAD:

Japan’s ambassador to Pakistan Hiroshi Oe said that another round of investment seminars on Pakistan will be held in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya this month.

Japan also plans to launch a business mission to Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot and Karachi which will offer opportunities to businessmen of both countries to interact directly, he added. In a statement, Hiroshi Oe said there was great potential for expanding economic and trade relations between two countries.

He said that Pakistan offers big market for investment in different sectors and hoped that Japanese companies will tap that potential. Currently, bilateral trade between Japan and Pakistan stands between $2 billion; which Pakistan considers far below the potential and no bilateral trade treaties between both the nations have resulted in incapability to tap the maximum potential.
