Information is key: Information dept to work till 1am
All officials of the department concerned have been directed to play their role efficiently.

By enhancing its capacity and updating electronic and print media, the Sindh information department has increased its Print Information and Electronic Media cell timings. The cell will remain functional till 1am while all officials of the department concerned have been directed to play their role efficiently, said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon at a meeting on Sunday. He added that it was vital that that the media be kept updated about the departments development and performance on a daily basis. Memon directed the department officials to issue the government’s point of view immediately when news is aired or published. “Electronic media spreads the news to the world almost instantly. It is necessary to understand the sensitivity of the news and the principles of journalism should also be followed,” said Memon. He also issued directives to arrange training programmes for information officers who had joined the department through the Sindh Public Service Commission.
