PPP reaches out to estranged Khosas
PML-N chief had claimed that Zulfiqar Khosa is still a member of his party.
LAHORE:
Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) senior leader Faryal Talpur has contacted the Khosa family offering them to join the ruling party, sources told Express News on Saturday.
Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa and his son Dost Muhammad Khosa recently developed differences with the senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N). After receiving offers from the PPP, the Khosa family asked for a major role in South Punjab and demanded that the matters of the DG Khan division be handed to them.
Talpur has forwarded these conditions to President Asif Ali Zardari, who will hold meetings with PPP-South Punjab to discuss the matter, said sources.
'Zulfiqar Khosa still a part of PML-N'
Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday that Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa is still a member of his party, reported Express News.
Zulfiqar Khosa had earlier resigned from his party post, but Sharif said that he had only resigned as a senior leader and retains his basic membership.
Sharif added that there are differences between members of every party and he still respects Zulfiqar Khosa.
The growing rift between Zulfiqar Khosa and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was confirmed by his son Dost Muhammad Khosa, who on Friday also resigned from PML-N’s basic party membership.
Dost Muhammad Khosa had lashed out against the PML-N leadership on Friday and had claimed that he was made a target of ‘character assassination’ and a case was forged against him to hide another case.
