Chevening scholarships: 20 students to go to UK for masters
Scholars will study governance, social development, public administration, law, finance and economics and security
ISLAMABAD:
The British High Commission will send 20 professionals for higher studies to the United Kingdom under its Chevening Scholarship programme.
British High Commissioner Adam Thomson hosted a reception on Thursday to present certificates to the selected students at the British High Commission.
The Chevening Scholarship programme is designed to identify the most promising of the next generation leaders. Pakistan is one of the largest recipients of these scholarships across the world.
“Every Chevening scholar will help build ever stronger ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom,” said the British high commissioner. “The UK is committed to working in partnership with Pakistan at all levels of education, from primary level to university.
“These scholarships are an important part of our wider engagement on education in Pakistan, which includes training teachers, building schools and increasing primary school enrolment.”
The 20 scholars will study in a range of areas such as governance and democracy, social development, public administration, law, finance and economics and security.
