HARIPUR:
A woman and two men were killed in different parts of Hazara Division in the past 24 hours.
The first incident occurred in Abbottabad on Friday, where a man was allegedly shot dead by his brother-in-law.
Naureen Bibi, a resident of Nara village, lodged a complaint with the police, accusing her brother Hameedullah of killing her husband Gul Zarin.
The complainant said she had married Zarin against her family’s wishes and her brothers often threatened her husband of killing him.
On Friday morning, while the couple was having sehri, Hameedullah barged into their house and opened fire at both of them. Zarin was killed on the spot, while Bibi managed to save herself by locking herself in a room.
The second incident occurred in Battagram, where a family dispute claimed a woman’s life. Saeedur Rehman, a resident of Cheeran Sar village, told the police that his wife Gul Bibi was killed while he had gone for tarawih prayers.
According to the complainant, Bibi was his second wife whom he married last year. However, his first wife, Shaheen, and her family members were upset over Rehman’s second marriage.
On Thursday evening, Shaheen’s brother Murad entered his house with two accomplices and shot her dead.
