Suspect: Qari arrested over killing student

Accused was arrested on charge of sodomising and killing a teenager seminary student.

FAISALABAD: A qari (teacher of a seminary) was arrested on charge of sodomising and killing a teenager seminary student in the area of Thikriwala police station. The police said that the body of a 15-year-old boy who was later identified as Usman was found from a Rajbah of Rakh Branch Canal near Chak No.245-RB about 4 months ago. During investigation, it was revealed that Usman was a student of a local seminary and he was killed after being sodomised. Sub Inspector Lal Khan on the complaint of Muhammad Shafi, father of the ill-fated boy, conducted the investigation.  Shafi told to the police that Usman was leaning the Holy Quran in a local seminary where Qari Zahoor Ahmad was teaching the student and Usman could have been killed by Qari Zahoor and his associates Muhammad Azeem and Waseem. On suspicion, the police arrested Qari Zahoor resident of Mansoorabad and started search for the arrest of remaining accused.
