Kidnapping for ransom: Boy rescued by police after encounter
The police rescued a 12 year-old boy, Abdul Haq, who was kidnapped for ransom.

The police rescued a 12 year-old boy, Abdul Haq, who was kidnapped for ransom, after an encounter in a village of Benazirabad district. There were no casualties during the exchange of fire, according to the Hyderabad SSP, Pir Farid Jan Sarhandi. He added that one of the four suspects involved in the kidnapping had been arrested. At a press conference on Thursday, Sarhandi said that the family’s trust and cooperation with the police led to Abdul’s rescue. “The boy’s father contacted the police as soon as he received a ransom call five days ago,” said Sarhandi. Abdul was kidnapped in Hyderabad on July 12. He was kept in Jagirnai village. The local and Matiari district police coordinated the raid with a team of officers from Hyderabad police. Abdul Latif, the boy’s father, handed over a cheque for Rs50,000 to the police as a reward for rescuing his son.
