Diplomatic shuffle: Barraza joins as the new US press attaché

Barraza’s previous assignment was at the US embassy in New Delhi

Lydia Barraza assumed charge as the press attaché at the US Consulate General in Lahore on July 27 succeeding Leslie Núñez Goodman. She will serve in Lahore for two years.



Barraza’s previous assignment was at the US embassy in New Delhi, where she served as an assistant cultural affairs officer directing cultural programmes across north India.

She holds a degree in political science and international studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She speaks Spanish, Hindi and Urdu.
