Two Rangers intelligence officials gunned down
Inspector Bahar was part of the Rangers intelligence unit and was in Banaras for intelligence purposes.

Two Rangers officials, including an intelligence officer, were gunned down in Orangi Town on Tuesday night.
According to initial details, the two Rangers officials were sitting at a teashop situated near Bacha Khan Chowk in Banaras, within the limits of Pirabad police station when the unidentified men fired on them.
SHO Ashfaq Baloch said that at least two armed men came close to the victims before firing at them. The incident had initially left the officers injured, however, they succumbed to their injuries shortly after. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.
Baloch said that the deceased Rangers personnel were identified as inspector Bahar and sub-inspector Abdullah, adding that they belonged to the intelligence wing of the Rangers and were sitting at a teashop for intelligence purpose when the culprits targeted them.
Their bodies were moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities where the Rangers and police officials also reached.
A heavy contingent of the law enforcers including Rangers and police descended on the crime scene and the entire locality was cordoned off to catch the culprits behind the incident.
Rangers were unavailable for comment when contacted.
Police said that no case has been registered till the filing of this story.
Earlier in a month, nine Rangers personnel were injured in three successful bomb attacks in Quaidabad, Buffer Zone and near the Chinese Consulat.e Investigation in these cases remain pending. Also in July, a bomb was discovered and defused outside the Sachal Rangers headquarters on the outskirts of the city.
Meanwhile, at least three people were injured in a firing incident near Gulistan-e-Jauhar turn and were shifted to JPMC. Police officials said that they were busy in collecting the details about the incident and the identities of the victims.
