Road accident One killed, seven injured

Passenger van carrying a police investigation team met an accident around eight kilometres into the journey.

A man was killed and seven others, including four police officers, were injured when a passenger van plunged into a ravine in Sadokhi area of Upper Dir’s Warhi tehsil on Tuesday.


An official of Sahibabad police station, Fakhr-e-Alam, said that a passenger van carrying a police investigation team had departed from Warhi Bus Stand and was heading towards Malvi when it met an accident around eight kilometres into the journey. The van driver, identified as Ghani Rahman, died and 11 passengers were injured, including Head Constable Rahim Khan, along with constables Khair Muhammad, Rafiullah,Naeemullah and Sher Zaman. A police official said before they reached the scene, locals had shifted the dead and the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. All the injured are in stable condition.
