Muskan Khan to star in Bollywood film Just MMS
Actor says she is not at all inspired by Veena Malik.
KARACHI:
Pakistani model-actor Muskan Khan had always hoped to work in an “international environment”, so when the opportunity to work in a Bollywood flick presented itself, Muskan took the leap. While she has been unlucky in Lollywood — since films like Qayamat and Tere Pyaar Mein casted her but eventually edited her scenes out — the 28-year-old hopes she has better luck this time.
Her B-town debut will come with South Indian music director Kabir Raj’s first film Just MMS, which also stars Raj Babbar and Ravina Tandon. She explains that she will play the lead role in the film, which is about a Pakistani actor going to India. The film will open with an item song, after which four men follow her and then get to know her — only to make a video of her! The first poster of the film shows two shots of a woman in a bra; one in which she is biting her finger.
As dodgy as the plot of the movie sounds, Muskan says that she is grateful to Raj for giving her a “big break” and feels that she knows him well after having met him and his family.
The actor said that Just MMS will go on the floor after Eid, after which she will be in India shooting primarily in Goa and Mumbai.
“It will definitely be a big break in my short career of six years in entertainment,” says Muskan. “I have very high hopes from this film and plan to create a mark in Bollywood.”
Khan also says that she is already discussing two upcoming Bollywood films with directors and hopes she can make an impactful foray into the Indian film industry.
When asked if she has been inspired by Veena Malik’s move to Bollywood, Muskan blatantly said that she has not. She feels that Veena has brought “a bad name to the country” and says she is inspired by Indian actors Kajol and Rani Mukherjee, who have always given their very best to Bollywood with their flair for natural acting. “I would love to follow their footsteps as far as acting skills are concerned,” says Muskan.
The actor urges her Pakistani fans to “give an objective look” at her movie and acting, and “not object to the poster covers”. “I want them to wait till the final product is launched. I hope they end up saying ‘we want the film to be released in Pakistan!’”
